Below is a video of Olympic gold medalist sprinter Usian Bolt sprinting. Watch the videos to gain a deeper understanding of the running stride and the influences of cross body assessments. During high speed running, notice the following:

  • Ipsilateral limb: Recovery position with the rectus femoris muscle placed on stretch
  • Contralateral limb: Initial contact with the hamstring muscle is placed on stretch.
